Drone Motors (dronemotors.la) is made by Automatique, Inc. (“we”). This page explains what we collect when you use the site, the cookies involved, how the store links work, and the choices you have.
What we collect when you browse
There are no accounts and no forms on Drone Motors: nothing to sign in to, and we never ask for your name or email address.
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog to count page views and when you leave a page; clicks on store links (which store, for which motor); clicks on the site’s other links (what kind of link, where on the page, where it goes and its text); how the motor page’s controls are used (the KV version and prop you pick, the throttle, the exploded and other views of the model); and errors in the page. Your browser gets a random id, kept in a first-party cookie and local storage, so a returning visitor counts once. We don’t store IP addresses, record sessions or fingerprint devices, and we keep no profile of you.
- Errors on our server. If a page fails on our server, we record the error with the page’s address (without anything after a “?”), whether the request came from a crawler, and your browser’s analytics id if it has one.
- Server logs. Our host (Heroku) keeps standard request logs, including the page requested and your IP address, for a limited time, to run and secure the site.
We don’t sell personal information, show ads, or share data with advertisers.
Cookies and local storage
- The analytics id (a cookie named
ph_<key>_posthog, and the same in local storage): the random id above. It lasts a year. - dm_internal: set only in our own team’s browsers, so our visits stay out of the numbers. It holds no id, just “1”, turns analytics off in that browser, and lasts a year.
Nothing else. The fonts and 3D models come from our own domain, and analytics reaches PostHog through it, so your browser contacts no other site while you read a page.
Store links
The buy and visit buttons on a motor page go straight to the store’s own page for that motor. They are plain links: we earn nothing from them, and we add nothing to them that identifies you. Once you are on a store’s site, the store collects information under its own privacy policy.
We may join stores’ affiliate programs later, which would pay us a commission when someone buys after following our link. If we do, every page with affiliate links will say so, and this page will explain how they work.
Your choices
- Clear this site’s cookies and data to reset the analytics id.
- Block analytics with your browser’s settings or an extension; the site works the same without it.
Children
Drone Motors isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we’ll update this page and the date above.
