Xnova Cinelifter Line 3220 SK

Xnova's Cinelifter SK Line 3220 for 10-inch rigs carrying heavy HD cameras, 155–160 g with a knurled top; the 980KV pulls 5,075–5,104 g on 10 × 5 three-blades on 6S in Xnova's test.

  • Cinelifters carrying heavy HD cameras
  • 10-inch props on 6S (980KV), 8S (700KV) or 12S (490KV)
  • Props on an M5 shaft
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 3220 motor drawn from Xnova’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are Xnova’s bench figures for the GF10*5*3 tri blades prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 10% throttle.

Version

Xnova pairs it with 10-inch props and tested it on 24 V with HQ and Gemfan 10 × 5 three-blades.

On your quad

31.4 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 20,416 g with the GF10*5*3 tri blades at 24 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 9,904 g, 15.2 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get for $71.99

  • Three KVs, 6S to 12S

    980KV for 6S, 700KV for 8S and 490KV for 12S, all paired with 10-inch props; 155–160 g with 30 cm of wire.

  • Knurled top

Xnova gives the SK Line a special knurling design: the centre of the top round the shaft is knurled.

  • Made for heavy cameras

Xnova pitches it at carrying heavy cameras for HD video, lists high torque and an optimized stator design, and says a big bearing inside keeps it running solid and smooth.

  • Bench numbers

    On 24 V the 980KV pulls 5,075 g on an HQ 10 × 5 three-blade at 105.3 A, and 5,104 g on a Gemfan 10 × 5 three-blade at 98.0 A.

What to pair it with

Our reading of Xnova’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
The 980KV draws 105.3 A at full throttle on Xnova's 24 V bench with an HQ 10 × 5 three-blade, and 98.0 A on a Gemfan 10 × 5; at half throttle it draws 18.8–20.7 A. (Xnova 980KV prop data)
Props
Xnova pairs all three KVs with 10-inch props and tested the 980KV on HQ and Gemfan 10 × 5 three-blades. Props fit the M5 shaft. (Xnova data list, Xnova 980KV prop data, Xnova drawing)
Battery
6S (980KV), 8S (700KV), 12S (490KV). (Xnova data list)
Frame
Four M3 screws, opposite holes 19 mm apart (the 19 × 19 pattern). (Xnova drawing)

Bench data

Redrawn from Xnova’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 980KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.814,5041,692 Hz10,153
4S full16.816,4641,921 Hz11,525
6S nominal22.221,7562,538 Hz15,229
6S full25.224,6962,881 Hz17,287

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from Xnova’s published sizes: the 32 × 20 mm stator, 38.5 mm bell, 36.2 mm height, 5 mm shaft and 19 mm mounting circle. Anything Xnova doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
