5-inch FPV motor
VCI Yuki Savage 2207
A 31 g 6S motor for 5-inch props; on VCI’s 24 V bench the 2120KV pulls 1,849 g at full throttle on a GF 5129-3.

- GF 5129-3 or HQ R29-3 props (VCI’s test props)
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2207 motor drawn from VCI’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are VCI’s bench figures for the GF 5129-3 prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 30% throttle.

What it pulls
VCI’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the GF 5129-3: 654 g of thrust, 11.4 A, 273 W, 2.40 g per watt.
On your quad
11.4 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 7,396 g with the GF 5129-3 at 24 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 2,616 g, 4.0 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What to pair it with
Our reading of VCI’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- VCI’s peak currents are 45.16 A (2120KV) and 46.89 A (2160KV) at 24 V; pick an ESC rated above that per motor. (VCI spec sheet)
- Props
- VCI tested both KVs on a GF 5129-3 and an HQ R29-3 at 24 V; the GF 5129-3 made the most thrust at full throttle. (VCI spec sheet)
- Battery
- 6S; VCI rates both KVs for 6S (24 V). (VCI spec sheet)
- Frame
- Four M3 holes on a 16 × 16 mm pattern. (VCI drawing)

Bench data
Redrawn from VCI’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Magnets. 55SH arc magnets. (VCI spec sheet)
- Leads. 20 AWG Teflon-insulated wire, 150 mm. (VCI spec sheet)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 2120KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 31,376 | 3,661 Hz | 21,963 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 35,616 | 4,155 Hz | 24,931 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 47,064 | 5,491 Hz | 32,945 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 53,424 | 6,233 Hz | 37,397 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from VCI’s published sizes: the 22 × 7 mm stator, 26.4 mm bell, 20 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 16 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything VCI doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
