8–10-inch cinematic FPV motor

T-Motor Velox V3120

A 3120 for 8–11-inch X4 and X8 cinematic drones carrying heavy cameras, in 500KV for 6–12S and 700KV for 4–8S; the 700KV pulls 6028 g on a T-Motor 10.5-inch prop at full throttle on T-Motor's 32 V bench.

Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 3120 motor drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are T-Motor’s bench figures for the HQ1145-3 prop at 32 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 10% throttle.

What it pulls

T-Motor’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.

At 60% with the HQ1145-3: 2,758 g of thrust, 21.4 A, 681 W, 4.10 g per watt.

On your quad

38.4 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 24,944 g with the HQ1145-3 at 32 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 11,032 g, 17.0 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get for $49.90

  • Built to run cool

T-Motor says its heat-dissipation design, a top with staggered ribs, keeps the motor cooler in flight.

  • Coated stator core

T-Motor calls it its first stator core finished by electrophoresis, for corrosion resistance and stability.

  • Speed-record claim

T-Hobby says the V3120 powered the drone that set a 657 km/h Guinness world record.

  • Bench data for both KVs

Thrust, current, power, RPM and torque in 10% steps on 10- to 11-inch props at 24–48 V; at full throttle the 500KV pulled 7142 g on an HQProp 1145 at 48 V.

What to pair it with

Our reading of T-Motor’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
Peak current over 10 s is 79.4 A for the 700KV and 68.9 A for the 500KV. T-Hobby suggests T-Motor's V70A SE 4-in-1 stack. (T-Motor drawing, specs and test report, T-Hobby product page)
Props
T-Hobby recommends T-Motor's Cine 10.5 × 5. On it at full throttle the 700KV pulled 6028 g at 32 V and 3936 g at 24 V, and the 500KV 6837 g at 48 V. (T-Hobby product page, T-Motor drawing, specs and test report)
Battery
6–12S for the 500KV, 4–8S for the 700KV. (T-Hobby product page)
Frame
8–11-inch X4 and X8 cinematic and heavy-lift platforms, per T-Motor. Four M3 holes on a 19 mm circle. (T-Motor product page, T-Hobby product page, T-Motor drawing, specs and test report)

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 700KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.810,3601,209 Hz7,252
4S full16.811,7601,372 Hz8,232
6S nominal22.215,5401,813 Hz10,878
6S full25.217,6402,058 Hz12,348

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes: the 31 × 20 mm stator, 37.2 mm bell, 38.6 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything T-Motor doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
