7-inch long-range and cinelifter motor

T-Motor Velox V2808

T-Motor's 2808 for 7-inch long range and 7–8-inch cinelifters, plus a 1950KV for 4–5-inch cinewhoops; the 1300KV pulls 3083 g at full throttle on T-Motor's 6S bench with a Gemfan GF8040-3.

  • 7-inch long range and 7–8-inch cinelifters (1300KV, 1500KV)
  • 4–5-inch cinewhoops (1950KV)
  • 6S (1300KV, 1500KV) or 4S–6S (1950KV)
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2808 motor drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are T-Motor’s bench figures for the GF8040-3 prop at 25.2 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 20% throttle.

At 60% with the GF8040-3: 1,554 g of thrust, 19.6 A, 487 W, 3.19 g per watt.

On your quad

19.0 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 12,334 g with the GF8040-3 at 25.2 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 6,216 g, 9.6 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get for $27.90

  • About 3 kg per motor on 8-inch props

    At full throttle on 6S the 1300KV pulled 3083 g on a Gemfan GF8040-3 and the 1500KV 3069 g, drawing 61 A and 74.3 A.

What to pair it with

Our reading of T-Motor’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
Peak current over 10 s is 62.4 A for the 1300KV, 74.3 A for the 1500KV and 82.3 A for the 1950KV; T-Hobby lists a 4–6S ESC. Pick one rated for those peaks. (T-Motor drawing and specs, T-Hobby product page)
Props
T-Hobby lists 5- to 7-inch props. On 6S the 1300KV pulled 2467 g on a GF7040-3 and 3083 g on a GF8040-3 at full throttle; on 4S the 1950KV pulled 2631 g on the GF8040-3. (T-Hobby product page, T-Motor test report)
Battery
6S for the 1300KV and 1500KV; 4S–6S for the 1950KV, which T-Motor benched at 16.8 V, 21 V and 25.2 V. T-Hobby suggests a 6S 5200 mAh 75C pack. (T-Motor drawing and specs, T-Motor test report, T-Hobby product page)
Frame
4- to 8-inch cinewhoop and cinelifter frames, per T-Hobby, at up to about 3800 g take-off weight. Four M3 holes, opposite holes 19 mm apart. (T-Hobby product page, T-Motor drawing and specs)

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1300KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.819,2402,245 Hz13,468
4S full16.821,8402,548 Hz15,288
6S nominal22.228,8603,367 Hz20,202
6S full25.232,7603,822 Hz22,932

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes: the 28 × 8 mm stator, 33.4 mm bell, 22.5 mm height, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything T-Motor doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
