5-inch FPV freestyle motor

T-Motor ITS 2208

A 1750KV 2208 for 6S freestyle, made by T-Motor with IT'S FPV; on T-Motor's 24 V bench it pulls 1783–1888 g at full throttle on 5-inch tri-blades.

  • 5-inch freestyle; T-Hobby adds heavy 5-inch and 6-inch long-range builds
  • 6S
  • 5-inch tri-blade props; T-Motor suggests low pitch
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2208 motor drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are T-Motor’s bench figures for the GF F4-3 prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 10% throttle.

At 60% with the GF F4-3: 894 g of thrust, 12.3 A, 294 W, 3.04 g per watt.

On your quad

11.6 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 7,550 g with the GF F4-3 at 24 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 3,577 g, 5.5 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What to pair it with

Our reading of T-Motor’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
Peak current is 39 A for 1 s. T-Hobby suggests a T-Motor 50–65 A 4-in-1; T-Motor benched it with its F55A. (T-Motor drawing and specs, T-Hobby product page, T-Motor test report)
Props
T-Hobby recommends T-Motor's F5146. At full throttle at 24 V it pulled 1810 g at 35 A on the F5146-3 and 1888 g at 38.7 A on Gemfan's F4-3. (T-Hobby product page, T-Motor test report)
Frame
5-inch freestyle frames, heavy ones included, or 6-inch long-range quads, per T-Hobby. Four M3 holes on a 16 mm circle. (T-Hobby product page, T-Motor drawing and specs)

Bench data

Redrawn from T-Motor’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1750KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.825,9003,022 Hz18,130
4S full16.829,4003,430 Hz20,580
6S nominal22.238,8504,533 Hz27,195
6S full25.244,1005,145 Hz30,870

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes: the 22 × 8 mm stator, 28.74 mm bell, 19.65 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 16 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything T-Motor doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
