7-inch FPV long-range motor

T-Motor F90 2806.5

A 7-inch long-range motor that T-Motor also built for X8 cinelifters: 46.6 g with leads, and 2.36 kg of pull per motor on T-Motor's 24 V bench (1300KV, HQ 70403 prop).

  • 7-inch long range
  • 6–8-inch cinematic builds and X8 cinelifters
  • 5S–6S
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2806.5 motor drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are T-Motor’s bench figures for the HQ 70403 prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 30% throttle.

Version

T-Motor benched it at 24 V (6S) with two 7-inch props.

On your quad

14.5 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 9,442 g with the HQ 70403 at 24 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 5,161 g, 7.9 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get for $26.90

  • 41 g without leads

T-Motor gives 41 g for the motor alone and 46.6 g with its 230 mm leads.

What to pair it with

Our reading of T-Motor’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
Peak current over 60 s is 45.1 A for the 1300KV, 47.1 A for the 1500KV and 53.6 A for the 1950KV. T-Hobby suggests a 6S ESC. (T-Motor spec table, T-Hobby product page)
Props
T-Motor benched the 1300KV on 7-inch props (HQ 70403, GF 7042), the 1500KV on those and the 6-inch T6143, and the 1950KV on the 5.1-inch GF51466-3 and the T6143-3. T-Hobby lists 5–7-inch props. (T-Motor 1300KV test report, T-Motor 1500KV test report, T-Motor 1950KV test report, T-Hobby product page)
Battery
Rated for 5S–6S. T-Hobby suggests a 6S 5200 mAh 75C pack. (T-Motor spec table, T-Hobby product page)
Frame
6–7-inch X8 frames or 7–8-inch long-range frames, per T-Hobby, which gives 3200 g as the take-off weight of its suggested build. Four M3 holes on a 19 mm circle. (T-Hobby product page, T-Motor drawing)

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

  • Stator. 28 mm across and 6.5 mm tall, 12 slots under 14 magnet poles (12N14P). (T-Motor spec table)
  • Bell. 33.4 mm across, with a body 19.7 mm tall. (T-Motor drawing)
  • Shaft. 4 mm by T-Motor's table, with an M5 thread, standing 15 mm above the bell. (T-Motor drawing)
  • Base. Four M3 holes on a 19 mm circle; three 20 AWG leads, 230 mm long. (T-Motor drawing)

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1300KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.819,2402,245 Hz13,468
4S full16.821,8402,548 Hz15,288
6S nominal22.228,8603,367 Hz20,202
6S full25.232,7603,822 Hz22,932

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes: the 28 × 6.5 mm stator, 33.4 mm bell, 19.7 mm height, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything T-Motor doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
