T-Motor F40 Pro V 2306.8

T-Motor's F40 Pro V for 6S 5-inch racing, in 1950KV and 2150KV; on T-Motor's 25.2 V bench the 2150KV pulls 2108 g at full throttle on a T5147-3.

Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2306.8 motor drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are T-Motor’s bench figures for the T5147-3 prop at 25.2 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 20% throttle.

Version

T-Motor pitches it for advanced training. Benched at 25.2 V on T5143S-3, T5147-3 and GF51466-3 props.

What it pulls

At 60% with the T5147-3: 1,061 g of thrust, 19.1 A, 476 W, 2.20 g per watt.

On your quad

12.5 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 8,132 g with the T5147-3 at 25.2 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 4,243 g, 6.5 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

  • About 2 kg at full throttle

    On the 25.2 V bench the 1950KV pulled 1846–2033 g at 50.4–55.5 A and the 2150KV 1967–2108 g at 60.5–65.6 A, on T-Motor's T5143S-3 and T5147-3 and Gemfan's 51466-3.

  • Staggered-rib top

T-Motor says the staggered ribs of the bell top make the structure more stable, and a raised prop lock keeps the prop from working loose.

  • Titanium shaft, EZO bearings

A titanium-alloy shaft, which T-Motor says is lighter and stronger, running in EZO bearings.

  • Tuned against desyncs

T-Motor says it optimised the magnetic circuit so the high KVs don't desync, and gives ESC settings: rampup power 15%, demag compensation high, motor timing 31, PWM 24–48 kHz.

What to pair it with

Our reading of T-Motor’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
Peak current over 10 s is 55.5 A for the 1950KV and 65.6 A for the 2150KV. T-Motor recommends its F60A Mini 4-in-1, set to rampup power 15%, demag compensation high, motor timing 31 and PWM 24–48 kHz; T-Hobby also lists the F55A PRO III. (T-Motor drawing and specs, T-Motor product page, T-Hobby product page)
Props
T-Motor recommends its T5147. At full throttle on 25.2 V the 1950KV pulled 2033 g on the T5147-3, 1925 g on Gemfan's 51466-3 and 1846 g on the T5143S-3. (T-Motor product page, T-Motor test report)
Battery
6S; T-Motor specifies both KVs at 25.2 V. (T-Motor drawing and specs, T-Hobby product page)
Frame
5-inch racing and freestyle frames, per T-Hobby. Four M3 holes, opposite holes 16 mm apart; T-Motor says the larger contact area of the base holds it more steadily. (T-Hobby product page, T-Motor drawing and specs, T-Motor product page)

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1950KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.828,8603,367 Hz20,202
4S full16.832,7603,822 Hz22,932
6S nominal22.243,2905,051 Hz30,303
6S full25.249,1405,733 Hz34,398

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes: the 23 × 6.8 mm stator, 27.8 mm bell, 19.1 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 16 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything T-Motor doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
