2–3-inch micro FPV motor

T-Motor F15 1106

T-Motor's 1106 for 110 mm micro quads, in 6000KV for 2S–3S and 4500KV for 3S–4S; on T-Motor's 3S bench the 6000KV pulls 244 g at full throttle on a Gemfan 2540 tri-blade.

  • 110 mm micro quads, per T-Motor
  • 2S–3S (6000KV) or 3S–4S (4500KV)
  • 2- to 3-inch props on screw-on hubs
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 1106 motor drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are T-Motor’s bench figures for the GF2540*3 prop at 12.03 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 50% throttle.

Version

Benched on Gemfan's 2540 and 2040 tri-blades at about 12 V (3S) and its 3025 tri-blade at about 8 V (2S).

On your quad

1.5 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 976 g with the GF2540*3 at 12.03 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 489 g, 0.8 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get

  • Small and light

T-Motor pitches the F15 as small in size and big in power for 110 mm quads; it weighs 7.9 g with leads (7.8 g for the 4500KV).

Bench data

Redrawn from T-Motor’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 6000KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.888,8008,880 Hz53,280
4S full16.8100,80010,080 Hz60,480
6S nominal22.2133,20013,320 Hz79,920
6S full25.2151,20015,120 Hz90,720

A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes: the 11 × 6 mm stator, 14.4 mm bell, 13.3 mm height, 1.5 mm shaft, 9 mm mounting circle and 9 teeth and 12 magnets. Anything T-Motor doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
