3.5-inch cinewhoop motor

T-Motor Cine35

T-Motor's 3.5-inch cinewhoop motor for 6S: 19.6 g, IP45-sealed, and up to 883 g of thrust per motor on T-Motor's bench (Gemfan D90-3 inside an Oddity frame at about 24 V).

Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2004.6 motor drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are T-Motor’s bench figures for the D90-3 prop at 24.02 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 10% throttle.

At 60% with the D90-3: 433 g of thrust, 5.7 A, 137 W, 3.17 g per watt.

On your quad

5.4 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 3,532 g with the D90-3 at 24.02 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 1,732 g, 2.7 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get for $37.90

  • Sealed against sand and dust

IP45, with a built-in shield that T-Motor says keeps sand, gravel and dust out, and an electrophoretic-coated core that passed a 72-hour salt-spray test.

  • Long flights with a camera

    In T-Motor's flight tests a 680 g quad with a 1350 mAh 6S pack and a 160 g load flew 10 minutes, and a 634 g quad on a 3000 mAh pack 28 minutes without payload.

  • Fits many frames

The shaft screw doesn't protrude below the base, which T-Motor says lets the motor fit many frame types.

  • Bench data in and out of a frame

T-Motor tested three 3.5-inch props both on the open bench and inside an Oddity frame; at full throttle the thrust ran from 843 g to 883 g at 16.69–24.32 A.

What to pair it with

Our reading of T-Motor’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
T-Motor rates the peak current at 18 A for 1 s, but on its bench the motor drew up to 24.32 A at full throttle (GF DT90-5). T-Motor pairs it with its F7 45A AIO (6S) and suggests 50% startup power, auto timing and 32 kHz-by-RPM PWM with low demag compensation on BLHeli_32. (Ligpower (T-Motor) product page)
Props
HQ T90-3 in T-Motor's setup (868 g at 21.38 A at full throttle on the open bench). The GF D90-3 pulled 863 g and the five-blade GF DT90-5 843 g at 24.32 A. (Ligpower (T-Motor) product page)
Battery
6S. In T-Motor's flight tests a 1350 mAh pack gave 15 minutes at 520 g without payload and 10 minutes at 680 g with 160 g aboard. (Ligpower (T-Motor) product page)
Frame
Cinewhoop X4 frames, take-off weight within 800 g and 1200 g at most, per T-Motor. Four M2 holes on a 12 mm circle. (Ligpower (T-Motor) product page, T-Motor drawing)

Bench data

Redrawn from T-Motor’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 2100KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.831,0803,626 Hz21,756
4S full16.835,2804,116 Hz24,696
6S nominal22.246,6205,439 Hz32,634
6S full25.252,9206,174 Hz37,044

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from T-Motor’s published sizes: the 20 × 4.6 mm stator, 24.69 mm bell, 17.7 mm height, 1.5 mm shaft, 12 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything T-Motor doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
