3–3.5-inch FPV motor
RCinPower SmooX 1507 Plus M2
RCinPower's SmooX 1507 Plus with a 2 mm shaft and a single small prop nut instead of an M5 thread; on 4S the 3800KV pulled 633–983 g per motor at full throttle on 3- and 4-inch and 75 mm ducted props.
- 3-inch quads and 75 mm ducted builds
- 3S–4S (3800KV), 4S–6S (2680KV) or 5S–6S (2080KV)
- 3- to 5-inch props
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 1507 motor drawn from RCinPower’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are RCinPower’s bench figures for the Gemfan 4023, 3-blade prop at 16 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 50% throttle.
- Max thrust
- 983 g
- Gemfan 4023, 3-blade prop, 16 V
- Weight
- 16.5 g
- all three KVs; RCinPower's scale photo shows 16.50 g with leads (S3)
- Peak current
- 22.6 A
- full throttle
- Max power
- 362 W
- full throttle
What it pulls
RCinPower’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the Gemfan 4023, 3-blade: 525 g of thrust, 9.1 A, 145 W, 4.15 g per watt.
On your quad
6.0 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 3,932 g with the Gemfan 4023, 3-blade at 16 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 2,102 g, 3.2 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.
What you get
Single-nut prop mount
RCinPower calls its single-nut design more precise, lighter and faster; its scale photos show the prop nut at 0.15 g against 0.54 g for two screws.

Magnetic nut tool
RCinPower shows a matching nut driver whose tip holds the nut by magnet, which it says makes the nut easier to use.

What to pair it with
Our reading of RCinPower’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- On 4S at full throttle the 3800KV drew 12.5–22.6 A; the 2680KV drew up to 20.3 A on 5S, and the 2080KV up to 18.9 A on 6S (Gemfan 5125, marked hot). An ESC rated for 25 A per motor covers all three. (RCinPower spec sheets)
- Props
- On the 3800KV at 16 V the Gemfan 3208 three-blade was the most efficient at full throttle (3.165 g/W) and the Gemfan 4023 pulled the most (983 g); the five-blade 75 mm ducted prop was the least efficient. The Gemfan 5125 runs on the 2080KV and 2680KV at the top voltage were marked hot (85 °C). (RCinPower spec sheets)
- Battery
- 3S–4S for the 3800KV, 4S–6S for the 2680KV, 5S–6S for the 2080KV. (RCinPower spec sheets)
- Frame
- Four M2 screws, 12 × 12 mm. (RCinPower spec sheets)

Bench data
Redrawn from RCinPower’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. 2 mm, threaded at the end for a single small prop nut, standing 8.2 mm above the bell. (RCinPower spec sheets)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 3800KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 56,240 | 5,624 Hz | 33,744 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 63,840 | 6,384 Hz | 38,304 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 84,360 | 8,436 Hz | 50,616 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 95,760 | 9,576 Hz | 57,456 |
A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from RCinPower’s published sizes: the 15 × 7 mm stator, 20.7 mm bell, 16.2 mm height, 2 mm shaft, 12 mm mounting circle and 9 teeth and 12 magnets. Anything RCinPower doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
