5-inch FPV racing motor
RCinPower GTS V3 2107 Plus
A 29 g motor RCinPower made for 5-inch quads on small race tracks; on 6S the 1980KV pulled 1,951–2,163 g per motor on five 5-inch props.

- 5S–6S (1980KV, 2080KV) or 4S–5S (2480KV)
- 5-inch props
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2107 motor drawn from RCinPower’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are RCinPower’s bench figures for the HQProp 5.1 × 3.1, 3-blade prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 50% throttle.

What it pulls
RCinPower’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the HQProp 5.1 × 3.1, 3-blade: 1,076 g of thrust, 13.0 A, 311 W, 4.05 g per watt.
On your quad
13.3 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 8,652 g with the HQProp 5.1 × 3.1, 3-blade at 24 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 4,303 g, 6.6 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.
What you get
Made for 5-inch racing
RCinPower redesigned the 2107 Plus for 5-inch quads, lighter and with more power for its size, and says its throttle feels linear like its SmooX motors, saves power and suits small race tracks.

Most efficient at low current
RCinPower gives over 86% efficiency at 4–8 A for the 1980KV, 5–9 A for the 2080KV and 6–10 A for the 2480KV.

What to pair it with
Our reading of RCinPower’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- At full throttle the 1980KV drew up to 38.9 A on 6S and the 2080KV up to 43.4 A on 6S; the 2480KV drew up to 46.4 A on 5S. RCinPower marks all three runs hot (85 °C). An ESC rated for at least 45 A per motor covers the 1980KV and 2080KV; the 2480KV on 5S needs about 50 A. (RCinPower spec sheets)
- Props
- Tested on HQProp EthiX S4 and S5, DALProp T5147.5, Gemfan 5152 and an HQProp 5.1 × 3.1 three-blade. At full throttle the DALProp and the HQProp 5.1 × 3.1 were the most efficient and the Gemfan 5152 the least; the EthiX S5 and the 5.1 × 3.1 pulled the most, up to 2,269 g (2080KV on 6S). (RCinPower spec sheets)
- Battery
- 5S–6S for the 1980KV and 2080KV, 4S–5S for the 2480KV. (RCinPower spec sheets)
- Frame
- Four M3 screws, opposite holes 16 mm apart. (RCinPower spec sheets)

Bench data
Redrawn from RCinPower’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. 4 mm hollow; 5 mm across the thread, which stands 12.5 mm above the bell. (RCinPower spec sheets)
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 21 × 7.5 mm (RCinPower names the motor 2107; its spec tables give a 7.5 mm stator height). (RCinPower spec sheets)
- Base. 4 × M3 holes, opposite holes 16 mm apart (16 × 16). (RCinPower spec sheets)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1980KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 29,304 | 3,419 Hz | 20,513 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 33,264 | 3,881 Hz | 23,285 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 43,956 | 5,128 Hz | 30,769 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 49,896 | 5,821 Hz | 34,927 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from RCinPower’s published sizes: the 21 × 7.5 mm stator, 26.29 mm bell, 18.35 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 16 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything RCinPower doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
