5-inch FPV freestyle motor
NewBeeDrone Smoov V2 2306.5
A 36 g 5-inch motor with one molded ring magnet, which NewBeeDrone tunes for smooth freestyle and cinematic flying: 1750KV for 6S, 2450KV for 4S.
- 5-inch freestyle and cinematic flying
- 6S (1750KV) or 4S (2450KV)
- 5- to 6-inch props
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2306.5 motor drawn from NewBeeDrone’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 22.2 V, a nominal pack for this version. NewBeeDrone publishes no bench data for it.

Ring magnet
One fully molded N48SH ring magnet in place of separate magnets. NewBeeDrone says it runs smoother, as gimbal motors do, and leaves no gaps for dirt, so it is easier to clean.

3 g lighter than V1
NewBeeDrone says the V2 weighs 3 g less than the first Smoov; it is 36 g with cable.

One-piece bell
A 7075 aluminium unibell, which NewBeeDrone chose for rigidity.

NSK bearings
NSK / NMB 684ZZ bearings, 9 × 4 × 4 mm, on a 5 mm shaft.

What to pair it with
Our reading of NewBeeDrone’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- NewBeeDrone recommends 30–60 A. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
- Props
- 5- to 6-inch props; for 6-inch, NewBeeDrone says to use Betaflight's motor limit setting. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
- Battery
- 6S for the 1750KV, 4S for the 2450KV. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page, NewBeeDrone 2450KV page)
- Frame
- 200–250 mm frames, per NewBeeDrone. Five M3×8 screws come with each motor. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
- Betaflight
- Set the motor poles to 14 for the RPM filter. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. One piece of 7075 aluminium (unibell). (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
- Magnet. A single molded ring magnet of N48SH NdFeB with 14 poles; NewBeeDrone contrasts it with motors built from separate square magnets. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
- Stator. 23 mm across and 6.5 mm tall, 12 slots, a single winding on 0.15 mm laminations. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
- Bearings. NSK or NMB 684ZZ, 9 × 4 × 4 mm. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
- Shaft. 5 mm, with two M5 aluminium nuts in the box. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
- Leads. 20 AWG, 150 mm. (NewBeeDrone 1750KV page)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1750KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 25,900 | 3,022 Hz | 18,130 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 29,400 | 3,430 Hz | 20,580 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 38,850 | 4,533 Hz | 27,195 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 44,100 | 5,145 Hz | 30,870 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from NewBeeDrone’s published sizes: the 23 × 6.5 mm stator, 29.4 mm bell, 5 mm shaft and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything NewBeeDrone doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
