3-inch FPV racing and freestyle motor
NewBeeDrone FLOW 1408
An 18 g T-mount 1408 for 3-inch props in 4150KV (4S) and 2350KV (6S); NewBeeDrone measured 609 g on a GF3052 at 16 V (4150KV) and 516 g on a GF3028 three-blade at 24 V (2350KV).
- 3-inch quads
- 4S (4150KV) or 6S (2350KV)
- T-mount props
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 1408 motor drawn from NewBeeDrone’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 14.8 V, a nominal pack for this version. NewBeeDrone’s bench tables for it step by thrust rather than throttle, so they are in the bench data below, not on this readout.
- Max thrust
- 609 g
- GF3052 prop, 16 V
- Weight
- 18 g
- with wire
- Peak current
- 36.0 A
- full throttle
- Max power
- 578 W

Bench data
Redrawn from NewBeeDrone’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. Gunmetal grey, with six spokes on the top. (NewBeeDrone product photos)
- Magnets. N48SH magnets. (NewBeeDrone 4150KV page)
- Stator. 14 mm across and 8 mm tall with 9 slots, stacked from 0.2 mm silicon steel sheets; 12 magnet poles. (NewBeeDrone 4150KV spec sheet, NewBeeDrone 4150KV page)
- Bearings. NSK MR52 ball bearings. (NewBeeDrone 4150KV page)
- Shaft. 1.5 mm, standing 3.9 mm above the bell, with two M2 holes on a 5 mm circle in the top for T-mount props. (NewBeeDrone 4150KV spec sheet)
- Leads. 24 AWG silicone wires, 80 mm long, by the spec sheets (the product pages say 20 AWG). (NewBeeDrone 4150KV spec sheet, NewBeeDrone 4150KV page)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 4150KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 61,420 | 6,142 Hz | 36,852 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 69,720 | 6,972 Hz | 41,832 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 92,130 | 9,213 Hz | 55,278 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 104,580 | 10,458 Hz | 62,748 |
A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from NewBeeDrone’s published sizes: the 14 × 8 mm stator, 19 mm bell, 16.8 mm height, 1.5 mm shaft, 12 mm mounting circle and 9 teeth and 12 magnets. Anything NewBeeDrone doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
