6–8-inch FPV long-range and cinematic motor
MEPS SZ2808
A 56.4 g 2808 for 6–8 inch long-range and cinematic quads in 1350KV and 1900KV; on MEPS's 25.2 V bench the 1350KV pulls 2271 g at 90% throttle on a Gemfan 8040 three-blade, and the 1900KV 2590 g at full throttle on a T-Hobby T6143.
- 6–8 inch long-range and cinematic quads
- 6S (1350KV), 4S or 6S (1900KV)
- 7–8 inch props (1350KV), 6–7 inch props (1900KV)
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2808 motor drawn from MEPS’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are MEPS’s bench figures for the 8040-3 prop at 25.2 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 10% throttle.

What it pulls
MEPS’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the 8040-3: 1,460 g of thrust, 21.3 A, 524 W, 2.80 g per watt.
On your quad
13.1 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 8,540 g with the 8040-3 at 25.2 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 5,840 g, 9.0 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

Bench data
Redrawn from MEPS’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. Aluminium, teal (MEPS's "Blue"), with a ratchet-shaped top of six Y-shaped spokes. (MEPS product page, MEPS photo)
- Stator. 28 mm across and 8 mm tall, with 12 slots and 14 poles. (MEPS product page)
- Shaft. 5 mm with an M5 × 0.8 thread 8 mm long, standing 14.1 mm above the bell. (MEPS size chart)
- Base. Four M3 holes on a 19 mm circle. (MEPS size chart)
- Leads. 250 mm long. (MEPS product page, MEPS size chart)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1350KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 19,980 | 2,331 Hz | 13,986 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 22,680 | 2,646 Hz | 15,876 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 29,970 | 3,497 Hz | 20,979 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 34,020 | 3,969 Hz | 23,814 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from MEPS’s published sizes: the 28 × 8 mm stator, 34.17 mm bell, 21.11 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything MEPS doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
