8–10-inch cinematic and long-range FPV motor
MEPS NEON 3115
A motor for 8–10 inch cinematic and long-range quads on a 31 × 15 mm stator: 111 g with leads, a 6082 aluminium shell and NMB bearings, and 3363 g of thrust at full throttle on MEPS's 24 V bench (HQ1045-3).
- 8–10 inch cinematic and long range
- 6S
- 9 and 10-inch three-blade props (HQ9045-3, HQ1045-3)
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 3115 motor drawn from MEPS’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are MEPS’s bench figures for the HQ1045-3 prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 10% throttle.

What it pulls
MEPS’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the HQ1045-3: 1,585 g of thrust, 16.4 A, 389 W, 4.10 g per watt.
On your quad
20.7 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 13,452 g with the HQ1045-3 at 24 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 6,340 g, 9.8 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.
What you get for $29.90

What to pair it with
Our reading of MEPS’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- MEPS's peak current is 55.9 A, and its 24 V full-throttle tests draw 54.6–55.9 A. MEPS's buying guide pairs it with a 60 A 4-in-1 ESC running BLHeli_32 or AM32. (MEPS spec table, MEPS data test, MEPS product page)
- Props
- MEPS tested HQ9045-3 and HQ1045-3 three-blade props; at full throttle on 24 V the 10-inch prop pulls 336 g more (3363 g against 3027 g) for slightly less current. (MEPS data test)
- Battery
- 6S, per MEPS's spec table. Its buying guide suggests a 6S 5000 mAh LiPo or a 6S Li-ion pack with an XT90 connector for 10-inch builds. (MEPS spec table, MEPS product page)
- Frame
- Four holes on a 19 mm circle (the 19 × 19 mm pattern MEPS's guide names for 10-inch long-range frames). (MEPS size chart, MEPS product page)

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. 5 mm solid shaft, M5 × 0.8 thread 9 mm long, protrudes 16.6 mm above the bell ("precision solid shaft" in MEPS's description (S1)). (MEPS size chart)
- Bell. 6082 aluminium alloy shell. (MEPS product page)
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 31 × 15 mm (3115) (MEPS's description gives 31 mm diameter and 15 mm height). (MEPS product page)
- Bearings. NMB. (MEPS product page)
- Base. 4 holes on a 19 mm circle, labelled M2 × 0.4 in MEPS's drawing (MEPS's buying guide pairs it with 19 × 19 mm frames; the same hole label as on MEPS's NEON 2810 drawing, so check the screw size with MEPS). (MEPS size chart)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1050KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 15,540 | 1,813 Hz | 10,878 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 17,640 | 2,058 Hz | 12,348 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 23,310 | 2,720 Hz | 16,317 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 26,460 | 3,087 Hz | 18,522 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from MEPS’s published sizes: the 31 × 15 mm stator, 39.25 mm bell, 29.9 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything MEPS doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
