5-inch FPV freestyle motor
Lumenier ZIP V2 2407 Blackout
A 37 g, all-black 2407 for 6S: 12N14P, N52SH curved magnets, NMB bearings and a 5 mm prop shaft on a 4 mm titanium-alloy inner shaft.
- 5-inch freestyle
- 6S (rated 3S–8S)
- Builds where the motors shouldn't stand out
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2407 motor drawn from Lumenier’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 22.2 V, a nominal pack for this version. Lumenier publishes no bench data for it.
- Weight
- 37 g

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. 5 mm prop shaft for M5 props, on a 4 mm titanium-alloy inner shaft. (Lumenier product page)
- Bell. Anodised aluminium bell and base (7075 base casing), all black. (Lumenier product page)
- Magnets. N52SH curved magnets. (Lumenier product page)
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 24 × 7 mm (2407), 0.2 mm Kawasaki silicon-steel laminations. (Lumenier product page)
- Bearings. Japanese NMB, 9 × 4 × 4 mm. (Lumenier product page)
- Base. 16 × 16 mm, M3. (Lumenier product page)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1700KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 25,160 | 2,935 Hz | 17,612 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 28,560 | 3,332 Hz | 19,992 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 37,740 | 4,403 Hz | 26,418 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 42,840 | 4,998 Hz | 29,988 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from Lumenier’s published sizes: the 24 × 7 mm stator, 5 mm shaft, 16 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything Lumenier doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
