5-inch FPV freestyle motor
Hypetrain Drib V3 2306
Le Drib’s Hypetrain freestyle motor in its third version: 2306 stator, 36 g, a rose-gold one-piece bell, and 2650KV for 4S or 1990KV for 6S, rated at 39 A max.
- 5-inch flow freestyle
- 4S (2650KV) or 6S (1990KV)
- 16 × 16 mm M3 motor mounts
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2306 motor drawn from Hypetrain’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 14.8 V, a nominal pack for this version. Hypetrain publishes no bench data for it.

One-piece bell
Hypetrain redesigned the rose-gold bell as a uni-bell to make it tougher in crashes, with a “floating ring” on the top.

4S or 6S
2650KV for 4S, the setup Le Drib has flown for years, or 1990KV for 6S, which he says was spec’d to feel like the 4S motor with more punch.
39 A max
Hypetrain rates the motor at 39 A max and 1.95 A idle, with 35 ± 4 mΩ internal resistance.

Solder-free option
Both KVs come in a solder-free version with an MR30 plug, and replacement bells are sold separately.

What to pair it with
Our reading of Hypetrain’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- Hypetrain gives 39 A as the max current, so an ESC rated for at least 39 A per motor covers it. (Hypetrain 2650KV page)
- Battery
- 4S for the 2650KV, 6S for the 1990KV. (Hypetrain 2650KV page, Hypetrain 1990KV page)
- Frame
- Four M3 holes on a 16 × 16 mm pattern. (Hypetrain 2650KV page)

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. Rose-gold one-piece uni-bell with a “floating ring” top; φ28.7 mm. (Hypetrain 2650KV page)
- Stator. 2306, 12N14P. (Hypetrain 2650KV page)
- Shaft. φ4 mm. (Hypetrain 2650KV page)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 2650KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 39,220 | 4,576 Hz | 27,454 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 44,520 | 5,194 Hz | 31,164 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 58,830 | 6,864 Hz | 41,181 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 66,780 | 7,791 Hz | 46,746 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from Hypetrain’s published sizes: the 23 × 6 mm stator, 28.7 mm bell, 16 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything Hypetrain doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
