Long range and freestyle FPV motor
Hyperlite 2408.5 Team Edition
A 40 g 2408.5 for long range and freestyle on 4S–6S, in five KVs from 1322KV to 2522KV, with a titanium alloy hollow shaft, N52H arc magnets and NMB 9 × 4 × 4 mm bearings.
- Long range and freestyle
- 4S–6S, from 1322KV to 2522KV
- 16 × 16 mm M3 motor mounts
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2408.5 motor drawn from Hyperlite’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 22.2 V, a nominal pack for this version. Hyperlite publishes no bench data for it.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. titanium alloy, hollow; M5 prop thread. (Pyrodrone product page)
- Bell. Al 7075 bell cap and base casing. (Pyrodrone product page)
- Magnets. N52H arc magnets. (Pyrodrone product page)
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 0.15 mm Nippon Steel silicon-steel laminations (sold as a 2408.5). (Pyrodrone product page)
- Bearings. Japanese NMB 9 × 4 × 4 mm. (Pyrodrone product page)
- Base. 16 × 16 mm, M3. (Pyrodrone product page)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1622KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 24,006 | 2,801 Hz | 16,804 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 27,250 | 3,179 Hz | 19,075 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 36,008 | 4,201 Hz | 25,206 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 40,874 | 4,769 Hz | 28,612 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from Hyperlite’s published sizes: the 2408.5 stator, 16 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything Hyperlite doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
