2- to 3-inch 1S–2S FPV motor
HGLRC SPECTER 1202.5
A 4.47 g 1202.5 for 2 to 3-inch quads on 1S–2S: on HGLRC’s 7.4 V bench the 11000KV pulled up to 226 g on an HQ T65R, and up to 135 g on 1S on an HQT3x2R.
- 2 to 3-inch micro quads
- 1S–2S
- 2 to 3-inch props
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 1202.5 motor drawn from HGLRC’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are HGLRC’s bench figures for the HQ T65R prop at 7.4 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 50% throttle.

What it pulls
HGLRC’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the HQ T65R: 116 g of thrust, 5.2 A, 38 W, 3.26 g per watt.
On your quad
1.4 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 904 g with the HQ T65R at 7.4 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 466 g, 0.7 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.
What you get for $13.49

Bench data
Redrawn from HGLRC’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. One-piece 7075 aluminium rotor, anodised in two colours. (HGLRC product page)
- Magnets. Customised N52H arc magnets. (HGLRC product page, HGLRC spec sheet and table)
- Stator. 9N12P on Kawasaki 1200 silicon-steel laminations, wound with 200° high-temperature copper wire. (HGLRC product page, HGLRC spec sheet and table)
- Shaft and bearings. Alloy-steel shaft on ISC bearings. (HGLRC product page, HGLRC spec sheet and table)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 11000KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 162,800 | 16,280 Hz | 97,680 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 184,800 | 18,480 Hz | 110,880 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 244,200 | 24,420 Hz | 146,520 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 277,200 | 27,720 Hz | 166,320 |
A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from HGLRC’s published sizes: the 12 × 2.5 mm stator, 15.84 mm bell, 8.9 mm height, 1.5 mm shaft, 9 mm mounting circle and 9 teeth and 12 magnets. Anything HGLRC doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
