1S tiny whoop motor

HappyModel SE0702

A 1.5 g motor for 1S brushless whoops: a 7 × 2 mm stator on a 1 mm shaft, pulling 31.4 g per motor on HappyModel's 3.7 V bench (26000KV, 40 mm prop).

  • 1S brushless tiny whoops
  • 31 mm and 40 mm props
  • 1S only (all three KVs)
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 0702 motor drawn from HappyModel’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 3.7 V, a nominal pack for this version. HappyModel’s bench tables for it step by thrust rather than throttle, so they are in the bench data below, not on this readout.

Version

Tested at 3.7 V with an HQProp 31 mm and a Gemfan 40 mm two-blade prop.

What to pair it with

Our reading of HappyModel’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
HappyModel's bench tops out at 4.38 A (26000KV, 40 mm prop) and 4.74 A (28000KV, 31 mm three-blade) per motor. A 1S whoop board rated 5 A per motor or more covers them. (HappyModel product page)
Props
HappyModel tested 31 mm props on all three KVs (a Gemfan 1219 three-blade on the 28000KV) and 40 mm two-blade props on the 23000KV and 26000KV. (HappyModel product page)
Battery
1S LiPo only, for every KV. (HappyModel product page)
Frame
Three M1.4 screws on a 6.6 mm circle. (HappyModel drawing)

Bench data

Redrawn from HappyModel’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 26000KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.8384,80038,480 Hz230,880
4S full16.8436,80043,680 Hz262,080
6S nominal22.2577,20057,720 Hz346,320
6S full25.2655,20065,520 Hz393,120

A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from HappyModel’s published sizes: the 7 × 2 mm stator, 9.6 mm bell, 7.1 mm height, 1 mm shaft, 6.6 mm mounting circle and 9 teeth and 12 magnets. Anything HappyModel doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
