6 to 7-inch long-range FPV motor

GEPRC SPEEDX2 2806.5

A 48 g 2806.5 for 6 to 7-inch long-range and cinematic quads on 4S–6S; on GEPRC’s bench the 1350KV pulls up to 2,569 g per motor at 24 V and the 1760KV up to 2,701 g at 21 V.

  • 6 to 7-inch long range and cinematic
  • 4S–6S
  • 6 to 7-inch props
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2806.5 motor drawn from GEPRC’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are GEPRC’s bench figures for the DAL7056*3 prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 50% throttle.

At 60% with the DAL7056*3: 1,290 g of thrust, 12.4 A, 298 W, 5.19 g per watt.

On your quad

15.8 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 10,276 g with the DAL7056*3 at 24 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 5,159 g, 7.9 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get

  • Up to 2.7 kg

    The 1760KV pulled 2,701 g at full throttle on a GF7040*3 at 21 V, drawing 46.5 A; the 1350KV pulled 2,569 g on a DAL7056*3 at 24 V, at 33.7 A.

  • 48 g with wire

A one-piece 7075 rotor and a semi-hollow titanium alloy shaft keep it to 48 g with 3 cm of wire.

  • Damping O-ring, reinforced base

An O-ring that GEPRC says cuts vibration and lengthens bearing life, and a base it says is stronger in crashes.

What to pair it with

Our reading of GEPRC’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
GEPRC ran its full-throttle test with a 45 A ESC. It lists max currents of 40 A (1350KV) and 50 A (1760KV) at 5S; its table peaks at 36.3 A for the 1350KV (Gf7042, 24 V) and 50 A for the 1760KV (Gf7042, 21 V). (GEPRC product page, GEPRC test table, GEPRC test infographic)
Props
6 to 7-inch. GEPRC tested Gf6042, Gf7042, GF6042*3, GF7040*3 and DAL7056*3 props; the DAL7056*3 gave the 1350KV the most thrust at 24 V, the GF7040*3 the 1760KV at 21 V. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC test table)
Battery
4S–6S for both KVs. GEPRC tested the 1350KV at 21 V and 24 V and the 1760KV at 16 V to 24 V. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC drawing and spec image, GEPRC test table)
Frame
Four M3 holes on a 19 × 19 mm pattern, with M3×8 and M3×10 screws in the box; GEPRC made it for 6 to 7-inch long-range quads. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC drawing and spec image)

Bench data

Redrawn from GEPRC’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1350KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.819,9802,331 Hz13,986
4S full16.822,6802,646 Hz15,876
6S nominal22.229,9703,497 Hz20,979
6S full25.234,0203,969 Hz23,814

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from GEPRC’s published sizes: the 28 × 6.5 mm stator, 34.8 mm bell, 19.4 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything GEPRC doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
