1S tiny whoop motor

GEPRC SPEEDX2 0802

A 2.0 g 0802 for 1S tiny whoops; on GEPRC’s 4.2 V bench with a GF1635 four-blade, the 22000KV reaches 44.02 g at 7.8 A and the 17000KV 39.21 g at 5 A.

  • 1S packs of 380–530 mAh
  • 1.4-inch props (22000KV) or 1.6-inch (17000KV)
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 0802 motor drawn from GEPRC’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 3.7 V, a nominal pack for this version. GEPRC’s bench tables for it step by thrust rather than throttle, so they are in the bench data below, not on this readout.

Version

GEPRC lists it for 1.4-inch freestyle. 7.8 A max, 10 A ESC. Its bench table is at 4.2 V.

What to pair it with

Our reading of GEPRC’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
GEPRC lists a 6 A ESC for the 17000KV and 10 A for the 22000KV. Its tables stop at the maximum currents it gives, 5 A and 7.8 A. (GEPRC spec image, GEPRC load performance)
Props
GEPRC tested both KVs on a GF1635 four-blade. Its page says 1.4 and 1.6-inch props, and lists the 17000KV for 1.6-inch freestyle and the 22000KV for 1.4-inch. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC load performance, GEPRC summary image)
Battery
1S, with packs of 380–530 mAh. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC spec image)
Frame
Three M1.4 holes, equally spaced on a 6.6 mm circle; GEPRC made it for tiny whoop frames. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC drawing)

Bench data

Redrawn from GEPRC’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 22000KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.8325,60032,560 Hz195,360
4S full16.8369,60036,960 Hz221,760
6S nominal22.2488,40048,840 Hz293,040
6S full25.2554,40055,440 Hz332,640

A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from GEPRC’s published sizes: the 8.4 × 2 mm stator, 10.7 mm bell, 8.5 mm height, 1 mm shaft, 6.6 mm mounting circle and 9 teeth and 12 magnets. Anything GEPRC doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
