5-inch FPV racing and freestyle motor
GEPRC GR2205
A 29 g 2205 GEPRC made as a racer edition for 3S–4S 5-inch quads; it gives a maximum of 1,135 g on a DAL5045X3BN at 16.8 V.

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2205 motor drawn from GEPRC’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 14.8 V, a nominal pack for this version. GEPRC publishes no bench data for it.

What you get
1,135 g on 4S
GEPRC gives a maximum thrust of 1,135 g on a DAL5045X3BN three-blade at 16.8 V.

N45SH magnets
GEPRC says racers spend most of their throttle between 60% and 90%, and chose N45SH magnets so the motor keeps its magnetism at high speed.

Best at about 70%
GEPRC says the motor gives its best effect and thrust at about 70% throttle.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Magnets. N45SH magnets, which GEPRC chose to hold their magnetism at high speed. (GEPRC product page)
- Bearings. NMB bearings from Japan. (GEPRC product page)
- Prop nut. A 3.5 mm aluminium flange lock nut on the M5 prop adapter. (GEPRC product page)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 2300KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 34,040 | 3,971 Hz | 23,828 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 38,640 | 4,508 Hz | 27,048 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 51,060 | 5,957 Hz | 35,742 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 57,960 | 6,762 Hz | 40,572 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from GEPRC’s published sizes: the 22 × 5 mm stator, 28 mm bell, 5 mm shaft and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything GEPRC doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
