7- to 8-inch long-range FPV motor

GEPRC EM2810

A 69.5 g 2810 for 7 to 8-inch long-range builds on 6S; on GEPRC’s bench at about 24 V the 1280KV peaks at 3,158 g on a Gemfan 8040X3 and the 1350KV at 3,229 g.

Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2810 motor drawn from GEPRC’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are GEPRC’s bench figures for the Gemfan 8040X3 prop at 24.12 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 20% throttle.

On your quad

18.8 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 12,220 g with the Gemfan 8040X3 at 24.12 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 7,836 g, 12.1 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What to pair it with

Our reading of GEPRC’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
GEPRC recommends a 50–60 A ESC and gives peak currents of 54 A (1280KV) and 61 A (1350KV). Its datasheet peaks at 56.72 A and 61.9 A. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC datasheet)
Props
7 to 8-inch. GEPRC tested the 1280KV on a Hoprop 7x3.7x3 and Gemfan 8040X3 and 7535X3, and the 1350KV on Gemfan 7037X3, 8040X3 and 7535X3. On its sheet the 1350KV draws more on the 7535 than on the 8040, the reverse of the 1280KV, so those two labels may be swapped. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC datasheet)
Battery
6S (25.2 V). (GEPRC product page, GEPRC spec image)
Frame
Four M3 holes on a 19 × 19 mm pattern, with M3×9 screws in the box; GEPRC made it for 7 to 8-inch long-range frames. (GEPRC product page, GEPRC drawing)

Bench data

Redrawn from GEPRC’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1280KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.818,9442,210 Hz13,261
4S full16.821,5042,509 Hz15,053
6S nominal22.228,4163,315 Hz19,891
6S full25.232,2563,763 Hz22,579

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from GEPRC’s published sizes: the 28 × 10 mm stator, 33 mm bell, 23.1 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything GEPRC doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
