1S 2.5–3-inch toothpick motor
FPVCycle Light 13mm 1S
FPVCycle’s motor for 1S 3-inch toothpicks: a 13 mm stator at 11400KV, about 4.6 g, built lighter than its other 13 mm motors and tuned for more low-end power, on a 2 mm press-fit shaft.
- 1S 2.5–3-inch toothpicks
- 2S on 1.5–2-inch props
- 9 mm M2 motor mounts
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 13mm motor drawn from FPVCycle’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 3.7 V, a nominal pack for this version. FPVCycle publishes no bench data for it.

What you get for $13.49
Built for 1S 3-inch
FPVCycle tuned it for more low-end power on 1S 2.5–3-inch props and built it lighter than its other 13 mm motors.
2 mm prop shaft
A 2 mm press-fit shaft, which FPVCycle says is stronger and grips the prop better than thinner press-fit shafts; T-mount holes too.

About 4.6 g
About 4.6 g with short leads, or 5.7 g with about 190 mm of 27 AWG lead.

Light builds
FPVCycle suggests keeping a 1S 3-inch craft under about 90 g, and under 75 g for good performance; its Gemfan 3018 setup comes to 49–56 g with the battery.
What to pair it with
Our reading of FPVCycle’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- Props
- Gemfan 3018 with a 2 mm press-fit hole, which FPVCycle highly recommends; for props with a 1.5 mm hole, it says to drill the hole out straight with a prop hole kit so the prop doesn’t wobble. (FPVCycle product page)
- Battery
- 1S (FPVCycle’s build uses a 500 mAh 1S pack with XT30), or 2S on about 1.5–2-inch props. (FPVCycle product page)
- Frame
- 4 × M2 on a 9 mm circle. The supplied 3 mm screws suit 2 mm carbon frames; on 1.5 mm frames take care not to drive them into the windings. (FPVCycle product page)

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. One piece, 7075 aluminium, held by a C-clip at the bottom. (FPVCycle product page)
- Shaft. 2 mm, through the whole motor; 5 mm above the bell for press-fit props. (FPVCycle product page)
- Stator. 13 mm, 0.15 mm laminations. (FPVCycle product page, FPVCycle motor guide)
- Bearings. 5 mm size. (FPVCycle product page)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 11400KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 168,720 | 19,684 Hz | 118,104 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 191,520 | 22,344 Hz | 134,064 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 253,080 | 29,526 Hz | 177,156 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 287,280 | 33,516 Hz | 201,096 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from FPVCycle’s published sizes: the 13mm stator, 2 mm shaft and 9 mm mounting circle. Anything FPVCycle doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
