  • 3- to 5-inch quads
  • 6S (1650KV) or 4S (2950KV)
  • 12 × 12 mm M2 motor mounts
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2105.5 motor drawn from Foxeer’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are Foxeer’s bench figures for the GF 5125 prop at 22.2 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 50% throttle.

At 60% with the GF 5125: 453 g of thrust, 5.9 A, 131 W, 4.09 g per watt.

On your quad

6.2 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 4,028 g with the GF 5125 at 22.2 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 1,814 g, 2.8 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get

What to pair it with

Our reading of Foxeer’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
Foxeer's max currents are 18.6 A for the 1650KV (22.2 V) and 37.9 A for the 2950KV (14.8 V), the highest draws on its bench. A 25 A ESC covers the 1650KV; the 2950KV wants 40 A or more. (Foxeer 1650KV spec sheet, Foxeer 2950KV spec sheet)
Props
Foxeer benched the 1650KV on six props, from the GF D76×5 to the DAL 5139.5, and pulled the most on the GF 5125 (1,007 g at 22.2 V). The 2950KV pulled the most on the GF5125R (1,211 g at 14.8 V) and the HQT5×3R (1,169 g). (Foxeer 1650KV spec sheet, Foxeer 2950KV spec sheet)
Battery
4S–6S for the 1650KV, tested at 14.8 V and 22.2 V; 3S–4S for the 2950KV, tested at 11.1 V and 14.8 V. (Foxeer 1650KV spec sheet, Foxeer 2950KV spec sheet)
Frame

Bench data

Redrawn from Foxeer’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1650KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.824,4202,849 Hz17,094
4S full16.827,7203,234 Hz19,404
6S nominal22.236,6304,274 Hz25,641
6S full25.241,5804,851 Hz29,106

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from Foxeer’s published sizes: the 21 × 5.5 mm stator, 25.53 mm bell, 15.1 mm height, 3 mm shaft, 12 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything Foxeer doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
