Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2506 motor drawn from FlyFish’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are FlyFish’s bench figures for the GF 6030 prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 50% throttle.

At 60% with the GF 6030: 820 g of thrust, 10.2 A, 243 W, 3.37 g per watt.

On your quad

11.2 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 7,273 g with the GF 6030 at 24 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 3,278 g, 5.0 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get for $23.90

  • 2 kg on 6S

    On FlyFishRC’s 24 V bench the 1750KV pulled 2,028.5 g at full throttle on a GF 6030, drawing 42.55 A; the 1550KV pulled 1,818.3 g on the same prop at 33.35 A.

  • One-piece 7075 bell

FlyFishRC’s Uni-Bell is one piece of 7075 aluminium with a frosted matte finish; it says the design adds crash resistance without adding weight.

  • NMB bearings, N52SH magnets

NMB bearings, N52SH magnets, a titanium alloy shaft, and copper wire rated to 220 °C.

  • Braced lead exit

FlyFishRC thickened the base and added braces where the wires leave it, and gave the prop seat a non-slip shape.

ESC
FlyFishRC gives 10-second peaks of 33.35 A for the 1550KV and 42.55 A for the 1750KV on 24 V. A 45 A ESC covers both. (FlyFishRC spec sheet)
Props
6-inch props. On 24 V the 1550KV pulled 1,806.2 g on an HQ 6 × 2.5 × 3 and 1,818.3 g on a GF 6030 at full throttle; the 1750KV pulled 2,019.6 g and 2,028.5 g on the same two props. (FlyFishRC spec sheet)
Battery
6S for both versions. (FlyFishRC product page)
Frame
Four M3 holes on a 16 mm circle (16 × 16 mm) and 150 mm 20 AWG leads. (FlyFishRC product page, FlyFishRC spec sheet)

Bench data

Redrawn from FlyFish’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1550KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.822,9402,676 Hz16,058
4S full16.826,0403,038 Hz18,228
6S nominal22.234,4104,015 Hz24,087
6S full25.239,0604,557 Hz27,342

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from FlyFish’s published sizes: the 25 × 6 mm stator, 31.4 mm bell, 18.4 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 16 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything FlyFish doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
