2–3-inch toothpick FPV motor
FlyFish Flash 1303.5
A 4S toothpick motor: 1303.5 stator, 9N12P, 7.5 g with leads, and 297.8 g of pull per motor on an HQ 3 × 2 × 2 on FlyFishRC’s 16.8 V bench.
- 2–3-inch toothpicks
- 4S
- 2.5 to 3-inch props on a 1.5 mm shaft
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 1303.5 motor drawn from FlyFish’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are FlyFish’s bench figures for the HQ 3 × 2 × 2 prop at 16.8 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 50% throttle.

What it pulls
FlyFish’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the HQ 3 × 2 × 2: 183 g of thrust, 5.5 A, 88 W, 2.09 g per watt.
On your quad
1.8 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 1,191 g with the HQ 3 × 2 × 2 at 16.8 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 732 g, 1.1 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.
What you get for $12.90
298 g on 4S
On FlyFishRC’s 16.8 V bench it pulled 297.8 g at full throttle on an HQ 3 × 2 × 2, drawing 12 A; on a GF 2540 × 3 it pulled 275.3 g at 11.21 A.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. One piece of 7075 aluminium (FlyFishRC’s Uni-Bell), φ17.6 mm, in silver and purple, with four M2 holes on a 5 mm circle in the top. (FlyFishRC product page, FlyFishRC spec sheet)
- Shaft. 1.5 mm titanium alloy, standing 3 mm above the bell. (FlyFishRC product page, FlyFishRC spec sheet)
- Magnets. N52SH, which FlyFishRC describes as heat resistant. (FlyFishRC product page)
- Stator. 13 × 3.5 mm with 9 slots, wound with copper wire rated to 220 °C. (FlyFishRC product page)
- Bearings. NMB. (FlyFishRC product page)
- Base. Four M2 holes on a 9 mm circle. (FlyFishRC product page, FlyFishRC spec sheet)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 5500KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 81,400 | 8,140 Hz | 48,840 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 92,400 | 9,240 Hz | 55,440 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 122,100 | 12,210 Hz | 73,260 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 138,600 | 13,860 Hz | 83,160 |
A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from FlyFish’s published sizes: the 13 × 3.5 mm stator, 17.6 mm bell, 11.5 mm height, 1.5 mm shaft, 9 mm mounting circle and 9 teeth and 12 magnets. Anything FlyFish doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
