2–3-inch toothpick FPV motor
EMAX TH12025
EMAX’s 1202.5 motor for its 1S micro quads: 11000KV for 3-inch props on the Nanohawk X, 7000KV for 2.5-inch props on the Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle.
- 2.5 to 3-inch 1S micro quads
- Nanohawk X (11000KV) and Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle (7000KV)
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 1202.5 motor drawn from EMAX’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 3.7 V, a nominal pack for this version. EMAX publishes no bench data for it.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 12 × 2.5 mm (EMAX writes 12025). (EMAX USA 11000KV page, EMAX USA 7000KV page, EMAX USA Nanohawk X page)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 11000KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 162,800 | 16,280 Hz | 97,680 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 184,800 | 18,480 Hz | 110,880 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 244,200 | 24,420 Hz | 146,520 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 277,200 | 27,720 Hz | 166,320 |
A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from EMAX’s published sizes: the 12 × 2.5 mm stator. Anything EMAX doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
