5-inch FPV freestyle motor
EMAX ECO 2207
EMAX’s original ECO motor in the 2207 size: 12N14P, 31.5 g without leads, a hollow steel shaft in 9 × 4 mm bearings, and 1,880 g of max thrust on 6S by EMAX’s own figure (1900KV).
- 5-inch freestyle
- 6S (1700KV, 1900KV) or 4S (2400KV)
- 5 to 5.5-inch props
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2207 motor drawn from EMAX’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 22.2 V, a nominal pack for this version. EMAX publishes no bench data for it.
- Weight
- 31.5 g
- without leads; the 2400KV’s box label gives 31.6 g

What you get
1,880 g on 6S
EMAX’s box label gives the 1900KV 1,880 g of max thrust on 6S with a 5-inch prop, and the 2400KV 1,600 g on 4S.
31.5 g
EMAX lists 31.5 g without leads (31.6 g on the 2400KV’s box label).

Hollow shaft, 9 × 4 mm bearings
EMAX’s ECO series runs a hollow steel shaft in 9 × 4 mm steel bearings, which EMAX calls larger and more durable, inside a new lightweight bell.

What to pair it with
Our reading of EMAX’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- Props
- EMAX lists 5 to 5.5-inch props; the 1900KV’s box label names a 5-inch prop. (EMAX product page, EMAX 1900KV box label)
- Battery
- 3S–6S for the 1700KV and 1900KV, 3S–4S for the 2400KV. EMAX gives the 1900KV’s max thrust on 6S and the 2400KV’s on 4S. (EMAX product page, EMAX 1900KV box label, EMAX 2400KV box label)
- Frame
- EMAX does not give the hole pattern for this motor; M3 screws in 6 mm and 7 mm lengths and an M5 nylock nut come in the box. (EMAX 1900KV box label, EMAX 2400KV box label)

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. Hollow steel, M5 prop thread (CW); 4 mm through the bearings. (EMAX product page, EMAX ECO infographic)
- Bell. Machined aluminium, which EMAX calls aerospace-grade. (EMAX ECO infographic)
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 22 × 7 mm (2207). (EMAX product page)
- Winding. Multi-strand, in a copper alloy EMAX designed. (EMAX ECO infographic)
- Bearings. 9 × 4 mm steel bearings. (EMAX ECO infographic)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1900KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 28,120 | 3,281 Hz | 19,684 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 31,920 | 3,724 Hz | 22,344 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 42,180 | 4,921 Hz | 29,526 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 47,880 | 5,586 Hz | 33,516 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from EMAX’s published sizes: the 22 × 7 mm stator, 27.45 mm bell, 5 mm shaft and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything EMAX doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
