7-inch FPV long-range motor
EMAX E3 2808
A 7-inch motor for long range and cinematic rigs: 2808 stator, single-strand windings, 53.6 g without leads, and up to 2,640 g of pull per motor on EMAX’s 6S bench (1500KV).
- 7-inch long range and cinematic
- 6S
- 6 to 7-inch props
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2808 motor drawn from EMAX’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 22.2 V, a nominal pack for this version. EMAX’s bench tables for it step by thrust rather than throttle, so they are in the bench data below, not on this readout.

What you get for $23.99
2.6 kg of pull on 6S
On EMAX’s 25.2 V bench the 1500KV pulled 2,640 g at full throttle on an EMAX Avia 7040, drawing 52.3 A.
5.51 g/W at 300 g
Making 300 g of thrust on 6S, the 1300KV ran at 5.51 g/W on an EMAX Avia 7035.
Single-strand windings
EMAX winds the E3 series with single strands, which it says lowers electrical resistance and helps the motor shed heat.

For larger rigs
EMAX pitches the E3 2807 and 2808 at larger rigs, high-load cinematic flying and Pro Spec racing; the 2808 has a 5 mm shaft through its bearings and 7075 aluminium construction.

What to pair it with
Our reading of EMAX’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- EMAX rates the peak current at 56 A (1300KV) and 65 A (1500KV) on 6S. On its bench the 1500KV drew 52.3 A at full throttle on an Avia 7040. A 60 A ESC covers the 1300KV; for the 1500KV, choose one rated for at least 65 A. (EMAX spec sheet and thrust tables)
- Props
- EMAX lists 6 to 7-inch props and tested its own three-blade Avias on 6S: 2,340 g at full throttle for the 1300KV on a 7035 and 2,640 g for the 1500KV on a 7040. (EMAX spec sheet and thrust tables)
- Battery
- 6S: EMAX rates both KVs for 3S–6S and tested them at 25.2 V. (EMAX spec sheet and thrust tables)
- Frame
- Four M3 holes on a 19 mm circle (19 × 19 mm). (EMAX spec sheet and thrust tables)

Bench data
Redrawn from EMAX’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. Hardened steel, M5 thread, protrudes 15 mm; 5 mm through the bearings. (EMAX spec sheet and thrust tables, EMAX USA product page)
- Bell. 7075 aluminium. (EMAX USA product page)
- Magnets. N52SH arc magnets. (EMAX USA product page)
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 28 × 8 mm (2808). (EMAX USA product page, EMAX spec sheet and thrust tables)
- Winding. Single-strand. (EMAX USA product page)
- Bearings. G1 bearings (EMAX’s E3 infographic; it gives no size). (EMAX USA product page)
- Base. 4 × M3 holes on a 19 mm circle (19 × 19 mm). (EMAX spec sheet and thrust tables)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1300KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 19,240 | 2,245 Hz | 13,468 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 21,840 | 2,548 Hz | 15,288 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 28,860 | 3,367 Hz | 20,202 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 32,760 | 3,822 Hz | 22,932 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from EMAX’s published sizes: the 28 × 8 mm stator, 34.8 mm bell, 22 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything EMAX doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
