5- to 7-inch FPV motor
DYS SunFun 2306
A 2306 FPV motor from DYS: 34.53 g, φ28.5 × 17 mm, and up to 1,580 g of thrust in DYS’s 20 V test (2500KV, 6040 two-blade).
- 5- and 6-inch props (2500KV)
- 7-inch props (1750KV)
- Tested on 4S and 5S
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2306 motor drawn from DYS’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 22.2 V, a nominal pack for this version. DYS’s bench tables for it step by thrust rather than throttle, so they are in the bench data below, not on this readout.
- Weight

What you get
About 1.6 kg on 5S
On a 20 V pack DYS measured 1,580 g from the 2500KV on a 6040 two-blade, drawing 35.2 A; on 16 V the same prop pulled 1,327 g.

A 1750KV for 7-inch props
DYS tested the 1750KV on a 7×4E prop: 1,250 g at 26.5 A on 20 V, and 1,050 g at 21.8 A on 16 V.

34.53 g
DYS gives 34.53 g and shows the motor on a scale with its leads.

What to pair it with
Our reading of DYS’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- DYS’s highest test current is 35.2 A (2500KV, 6040 two-blade, 20 V); the 1750KV reached 26.5 A on a 7×4E. DYS publishes no current rating. (DYS product page)
- Props
- DYS tested the 2500KV on 5045 and 6040 two-blades and the 1750KV on a 7×4E. (DYS product page)
- Battery
- DYS’s tests use 4S and 5S packs (16 V and 20 V); it publishes no cell rating. (DYS product page)
- Frame
- Four M3 holes on a 16 mm circle (16 × 16 mm). (DYS drawing)

Bench data
Redrawn from DYS’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. 5 mm, threaded for the top 10.5 mm; it stands 14 mm above the bell (14 mm is the drawing’s 31 mm overall height less the 17 mm body). (DYS drawing)
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 23 × 6 mm (2306). (DYS product page)
- Base. 4 × M3 holes on a 16 mm circle (16 × 16 mm). (DYS drawing)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 2500KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 37,000 | 4,317 Hz | 25,900 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 42,000 | 4,900 Hz | 29,400 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 55,500 | 6,475 Hz | 38,850 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 63,000 | 7,350 Hz | 44,100 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from DYS’s published sizes: the 23 × 6 mm stator, 28.5 mm bell, 17 mm height, 5 mm shaft and 16 mm mounting circle. Anything DYS doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
