5- to 7-inch FPV motor
DYS SunFun 2207
A 2207 FPV motor from DYS: 35.44 g, φ27.7 × 18.7 mm, and up to 1,620 g of thrust in DYS’s 20 V test (2450KV, 6040 two-blade).
- 5- and 6-inch props (2450KV, 2750KV)
- 7-inch props (1750KV)
- Tested on 4S and 5S
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2207 motor drawn from DYS’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 22.2 V, a nominal pack for this version. DYS’s bench tables for it step by thrust rather than throttle, so they are in the bench data below, not on this readout.

Three windings
DYS lists 1750KV, 2450KV and 2750KV. It tested the 1750KV on a 7×4E (1,305 g at 27 A on 20 V) and the 2750KV on a 5045 two-blade (1,460 g at 33.6 A on 20 V).

Bench data
Redrawn from DYS’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Shaft. 5 mm, threaded for the top 10.5 mm; it stands 14 mm above the bell (14 mm is the drawing’s 32.7 mm overall length less the 18.7 mm body). (DYS drawing)
- Stator. The coils are wound on a stack of thin steel laminations: 22 × 7 mm (2207). (DYS product page)
- Base. 4 × M3 holes on a 16 mm circle (16 × 16 mm). (DYS drawing)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 2450KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 36,260 | 4,230 Hz | 25,382 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 41,160 | 4,802 Hz | 28,812 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 54,390 | 6,346 Hz | 38,073 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 61,740 | 7,203 Hz | 43,218 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from DYS’s published sizes: the 22 × 7 mm stator, 27.7 mm bell, 18.7 mm height, 5 mm shaft and 16 mm mounting circle. Anything DYS doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
