The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2812 motor drawn from BrotherHobby’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are BrotherHobby’s bench figures for the Folding 9453F prop at 25.2 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 30% throttle.

What it pulls
BrotherHobby’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the Folding 9453F: 2,057 g of thrust, 20.2 A, 509 W, 4.04 g per watt.
On your quad
23.3 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 15,152 g with the Folding 9453F at 25.2 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 8,228 g, 12.7 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.
What you get for $33.99
3.8 kg on a folding 9-inch
On BrotherHobby’s 25.2 V bench it pulled 3,788 g at full throttle on a folding 9453F tri-blade, drawing 50.78 A; at 30% throttle it gave 770 g at 6.5 g/W.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. Hard-anodised 7075 aluminium, φ33.9 mm. The flat top has six windows round the rim, three curved slots round the shaft and M3 holes on a 23 mm circle for the prop adapter. (BrotherHobby exploded view, BrotherHobby drawing)
- Shaft. Heat-treated SUS420 steel with an M5 thread, standing 17 mm above the bell. (BrotherHobby product page, BrotherHobby exploded view, BrotherHobby drawing)
- Magnets. N52H arc magnets, 14 poles, set at an even air gap. (BrotherHobby product page, BrotherHobby exploded view)
- Stator. 28 × 12 mm with 12 slots, in thin non-oriented silicon steel, wound with TU1-grade enamelled wire. (BrotherHobby exploded view, BrotherHobby test report)
- Bearings. 12 × 6 × 4 mm. (BrotherHobby product page)
- Base. 7075 aluminium, with four M3 holes on a 19 mm circle and 18 AWG leads 250 mm long. (BrotherHobby product page, BrotherHobby drawing)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 910KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 13,468 | 1,571 Hz | 9,428 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 15,288 | 1,784 Hz | 10,702 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 20,202 | 2,357 Hz | 14,141 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 22,932 | 2,675 Hz | 16,052 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from BrotherHobby’s published sizes: the 28 × 12 mm stator, 33.9 mm bell, 27.05 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything BrotherHobby doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
