1S tiny whoop motor

BetaFPV 0702

A 1.50 g motor for 65 mm 1S whoops like BetaFPV's Air65 II, pulling 35.7 g at full throttle on a Gemfan 1207 in BetaFPV's bench test (Racing, 30000KV).

  • 65 mm 1S whoops (Air65 II)
  • Freestyle (25000KV), racing (30000KV) or pro racing (36000KV)
  • Gemfan 1207 or 1219S three-blade props
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 0702 motor drawn from BetaFPV’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are BetaFPV’s bench figures for the GF 1207-3P prop at 3.93 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 20% throttle.

At 60% with the GF 1207-3P: 18 g of thrust, 3.0 A, 12 W, 1.53 g per watt.

On your quad

0.2 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 143 g with the GF 1207-3P at 3.93 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 72 g, 0.1 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get for $39.99

  • 0.10 mm stator core

BetaFPV says the thin core cuts magnetic losses and heat, and measured 0.1–0.2 g/W more than 0702 motors with a 0.15 mm core.

  • Three tunes

Freestyle 25000KV, Racing 30000KV and Champion 36000KV, each with its own magnetic circuit and winding.

  • Ball bearings on the Champion

The Champion runs on dual ball bearings and weighs 1.59 g; the Racing and Freestyle use brass bushings and weigh 1.50 g.

What to pair it with

Our reading of BetaFPV’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.

ESC
BetaFPV pairs it with its Matrix 1S 5IN1 II board. At full throttle the Champion draws 7.17 A, the Racing 6.03 A and the Freestyle 3.86 A per motor. (BetaFPV product page, BetaFPV drawing and bench table)
Props
Gemfan 1207 three-blade for the Champion and Racing, Gemfan 1219S three-blade for the Freestyle. BetaFPV's bench tables use the 1207 for all three. (BetaFPV product page, BetaFPV drawing and bench table)
Battery
1S; BetaFPV suggests its LAVA II 1S 280 mAh or 320 mAh packs. (BetaFPV product page)
Frame
Three M1.4 screws on a 6.6 mm circle; BetaFPV names its Air65 II and Air65 Champion frames. Twelve M1.4×3 screws come in the box. (BetaFPV product page)

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

  • Bell. Polished silver, with an anodised top and base: orange on the Champion, purple on the Racing, cyan on the Freestyle. (BetaFPV product photo)
  • Stator. A 0.10 mm stator core; BetaFPV compares it with the 0.15 mm cores of other 0702 motors. (BetaFPV product page)
  • Bearings. Dual ball bearings on the Champion; brass bushings on the Racing and Freestyle. (BetaFPV product page)
  • Shaft. 1.0 mm, standing 3.4 mm above the bell; BetaFPV says it reinforced the shaft for this version. (BetaFPV product page)
  • Leads. 30 AWG, 35 mm, ending in a JST 1.25 mm three-pin plug. (BetaFPV product page)

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 30000KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.8444,00044,400 Hz266,400
4S full16.8504,00050,400 Hz302,400
6S nominal22.2666,00066,600 Hz399,600
6S full25.2756,00075,600 Hz453,600

A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from BetaFPV’s published sizes: the 7 × 2 mm stator, 9 mm bell, 8.55 mm height, 1 mm shaft and 6.6 mm mounting circle. Anything BetaFPV doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
