7- to 9-inch long-range and cinelifter motor

Axisflying AF310 3010

A 3010 for X8 cinelifters and 7–9-inch long range: 72 g without cable, and 2580 g (1010KV) to 3021 g (1210KV) at full throttle on a GF8045 three-blade.

  • X8 cinelifters
  • 8–9-inch on 6S (1010KV)
  • 7-inch on 6S (1210KV)
Drawing the 3D model…

The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 3010 motor drawn from Axisflying’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are Axisflying’s bench figures for the GF8045 3-blade prop at 24.94 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 40% throttle.

At 60% with the GF8045 3-blade: 1,190 g of thrust, 11.2 A, 273 W, 4.36 g per watt.

On your quad

15.9 : 1

Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 10,320 g with the GF8045 3-blade at 24.94 V.

At 60% throttle they pull 4,760 g, 7.3 times the quad’s weight.

All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

What you get for $32.90

  • For X8 cinelifters

Axisflying designed the AF310 to lift heavy payloads on X8 cinelifters, and says it gives more torque, power and efficiency than a 2810 and 30% more flight time than a 28xx-size motor.

  • Two KVs

1010KV mainly for 8- and 9-inch props and 1210KV for 7-inch, both on 6S, at the same price.

  • Bearing seats

Axisflying's IPS3 design places the bearings for protection from dust and water.

Bench data

Redrawn from Axisflying’s test reports. Thrust is static pull on a bench, more than you get in flight. Power is volts × amps; efficiency is thrust divided by power.

Inside the motor

A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:

How fast it spins

KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 1010KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.

BatteryVoltsNo-load rpm (KV × V)Electrical frequencyESC steps per second
4S nominal14.814,9481,744 Hz10,464
4S full16.816,9681,980 Hz11,878
6S nominal22.222,4222,616 Hz15,695
6S full25.225,4522,969 Hz17,816

A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.

About the 3D model

A generic outrunner drawn from Axisflying’s published sizes: the 30 × 10 mm stator, 36.4 mm bell, 25.55 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 19 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything Axisflying doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
