2.5-inch cinewhoop motor
Axisflying AF144 1404
A 1404 Axisflying made for 2.5-inch cinewhoops and tiny trainers on 4S: 7.8 g without leads, 4510KV, and over 400 g of thrust by Axisflying's figure.
- 2.5-inch cinewhoops
- Tiny trainers
- 4S
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 1404 motor drawn from Axisflying’s published sizes, not its exact design. No-load speed is KV × 14.8 V, a nominal pack for this version. Axisflying publishes no bench data for it.
- Weight
- 7.8 g
- without leads
What you get
Made for 2.5-inch whoops
Axisflying designed the AF144 for tiny trainers and 2.5-inch cinewhoops, and fitted eight of them to its AirForce PRO X8 2.5-inch cinewhoop.

Over 400 g
Axisflying says it makes over 400 g of thrust and draws about 15.5 A at most; it rates it at 250 W.

Shielded bearings
Axisflying's bearing shield houses the bearings to an IP53 rating against dust and water; it says this keeps them smooth for longer.

What to pair it with
Our reading of Axisflying’s numbers, so your build matches what the motor was tested with.
- ESC
- Axisflying rates the peak current at 15.5 A. (Axisflying specs and drawing)
- Props
- 2.5-inch props on a T-mount: four M2 holes on a 5 mm circle, and two M2×7 prop screws come in the box. Axisflying's AirForce PRO X8 runs Gemfan D63-3 props on this motor. (Axisflying specs and drawing, Axisflying product page, 2022 (archived), Axisflying AirForce PRO X8 specs)
- Battery
- 4S; the AirForce PRO X8 takes 4S packs of 850–1000 mAh. (Axisflying specs and drawing, Axisflying AirForce PRO X8 specs)
- Frame
- Four M2 screws on a 9 mm circle; four M2×5 screws come in the box. (Axisflying specs and drawing, Axisflying product page, 2022 (archived))

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. Dark grey, with a grey spoked top ringed in red at its edge. (Axisflying intro image)
- Base. Grey, edged in red. (Axisflying feature image)
- Shaft. 1.5 mm, standing 3 mm above the bell, with four M2 prop holes round it in the top. (Axisflying specs and drawing)
- Bearings. Housed behind Axisflying's IP53 bearing shield. (Axisflying bearing image)
- Stator. 14 × 4 mm, 9 slots, with 12 N52H arc magnets in the bell. (Axisflying specs and drawing, Axisflying feature image)
- Leads. 24 AWG silicone wire, 130 mm. (Axisflying specs and drawing)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 4510KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 66,748 | 6,675 Hz | 40,049 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 75,768 | 7,577 Hz | 45,461 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 100,122 | 10,012 Hz | 60,073 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 113,652 | 11,365 Hz | 68,191 |
A 12-pole rotor has 6 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 6 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 36 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from Axisflying’s published sizes: the 14 × 4 mm stator, 18 mm bell, 12.8 mm height, 1.5 mm shaft, 9 mm mounting circle and 9 teeth and 12 magnets. Anything Axisflying doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
