3- to 7-inch FPV motor
AMAXinno Competition 2004
A 20 g 2004 motor in eight KVs from 1650 to 3100 with an M5 prop nut; on AMAX's 6S bench the 2600KV pulls 1,063 g at full throttle on a 3.5-inch prop.
- 3 to 3.5-inch quads on 6S (2600KV, 3100KV)
- 4 to 7-inch props on 2S–6S with the lower KVs, as in AMAX's tables
- Props on an M5 shaft, from 3 × 2 to 7 × 4
The spin is an illustration: the model turns at 1/600 of the no-load speed, and it is a generic 2004 motor drawn from AMAXinno’s published sizes, not its exact design. Thrust, current and power are AMAXinno’s bench figures for the 3.5 × 2 prop at 24 V, read straight across between its throttle steps. Its data starts at 30% throttle.

What it pulls
AMAXinno’s own bench test, one line per prop. Drag across the chart to move the throttle; the model above follows.
At 60% with the 3.5 × 2: 551 g of thrust, 9.5 A, 219 W, 2.53 g per watt.
On your quad
6.5 : 1
Thrust to weight at full throttle: four motors pull 4,252 g with the 3.5 × 2 at 24 V.
At 60% throttle they pull 2,204 g, 3.4 times the quad’s weight.
All-up weight is the quad ready to fly, with its battery and camera. The thrust is the maker’s static bench figure; in the air it is lower.

Inside the motor
A brushless outrunner: the coils stand still in the middle and the magnets spin around them. From the top down:
- Bell. One-piece 7075 aluminium Lock-Bell, dynamically balanced, with an electroplated surface. (AMAX Competition highlights)
- Base. Extra-thick 7075 aluminium base with longer thread holes and cooling fins. (AMAX Competition highlights)
- Stator. Thin laminations made by Kawasaki in Japan. (AMAX Competition highlights)
- Shaft. Half-hollow titanium, fixed with a screw; the prop seat has anti-slip spikes. (AMAX Competition highlights)
How fast it spins
KV is the motor’s no-load speed per volt. With nothing on the shaft, the 2600KV version reaches about these speeds; a prop loads the motor and brings it down, typically to around 70–75% of these figures at full throttle.
| Battery | Volts | No-load rpm (KV × V) | Electrical frequency | ESC steps per second |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4S nominal | 14.8 | 38,480 | 4,489 Hz | 26,936 |
| 4S full | 16.8 | 43,680 | 5,096 Hz | 30,576 |
| 6S nominal | 22.2 | 57,720 | 6,734 Hz | 40,404 |
| 6S full | 25.2 | 65,520 | 7,644 Hz | 45,864 |
A 14-pole rotor has 7 pole pairs, so every turn of the shaft is 7 electrical cycles, and a six-step ESC switches the phases 42 times per turn.
About the 3D model
A generic outrunner drawn from AMAXinno’s published sizes: the 20 × 4 mm stator, 25.6 mm bell, 13 mm height, 5 mm shaft, 12 mm mounting circle and 12 teeth and 14 magnets. Anything AMAXinno doesn’t publish is typical for a motor this size, and the bell’s spoked top, the base and the inside are a generic design, not this motor’s. The colours are read off the maker’s product photos. There are no logos or markings: it is our drawing, not the maker’s.
